How do you get a pop up opportunity?

I am searching constantly for events, markets, and festivals where I can be a vendor. The most success I have is through Instagram. In the beginning, I reached out to pretty much any event in Nashville. Now, as I have gained experience and learned more about my business and where I fit in, I am more selective. I try to do at least two events per week.

Even if an event wasn't a smashing success for my wallet, I am always gaining other things when popped up:

  • Experience being a vendor

  • Time to do inventory

  • Re-evaluating my setup

  • Networking with other vendors and businesses

  • By being present, I grow my brand recognition

Now that more people know about my business, I do get offers from events to pop up. I have to make choices of where and when! Soon, I will have another set up and an employee so we can be vending at two places at once.

What percentage of your money goes to personal vs. the business?

I take as much money from my business as I need to get my personal bills paid and keep the rest in the business account to keep it afloat. I wish I had more business savings at this point, but I am not there yet.

Google, IG, and
FB advertising strategies.

I have no strategies and I don’t pay for advertising. I have no schemes or plans. I just do what feels right in the moment.
